  Wires and cables are used to transmit electrical (magnetic) energy, information and wire products for electromagnetic energy conversion. Wire and cable in the broad sense are also referred to as cables. In the narrow sense, cables refer to insulated cables. They can be defined as an aggregate composed of the following parts; one or more insulated cores, as well as their respective possible cladding layers, general protective layers and outer protective layers; cables can also have additional conductors without insulation.
